Together with three other municipalities in southern Funen, Ærø Municipality has entered into an apprenticeship guarantee agreement. The guarantee covers 9 vocational training programs where the internship part is on Ærø and the school stay takes place at Svendborg Erhvervsskole.

There are constantly around 20 social and healthcare assistants in training on Ærø and two pedagogical assistants.
There are particularly good agreements with SOSU-Skolen Fyn, which helps make the study time as smooth as possible as SSH or SSA (Social and Health Helper or Assistant)

"I actually have another education, but I wanted to change and when I saw that Ærø Municipality was looking for an office trainee, I jumped at it. I have my family and network on Ærø, so it was important for me to come back here. On Ærø, the proximity is clear. When I'm at work, it's easy to get to know people because we're a small workplace compared to the larger places. I think that's nice. Everything is close by here on Ærø. It's quick to get out into nature, go swimming in the summer or have dinner at the beach. Ærø somehow has a holiday atmosphere all year round. I also think that Ærø makes it possible to have a good and natural balance between work and leisure."
